Do you need to use the rules in Microsoft Word but don't know how?

Discover all its secrets in this article!

Firstly, launch your Microsoft Word application.

Step 1: Activate the ruler

Once you are in your Microsoft Word application, go to the "View" tab in the top menu.

Under the "Show" section on the ribbon, check the "Ruler" box to activate the Microsoft Word rules.

The ruler is now enabled for this document.

Step 2: Modify your document's margins

You can use the rules to adjust the margins of your Word document.

To do this, click and hold your left mouse button on one of the white arrows on the rules and drag it.

Your margin will be adjusted based on where you place the arrow.

The downward-pointing arrows only affect the first line of the page, while the upward-pointing arrows affect the rest of the content.

You can move both arrows simultaneously by clicking on the rectangle below the upward-pointing arrow.

This allows you to independently adjust the margins of two paragraphs, giving you precise control over the appearance of your Word document.

There you have it! Now you have the basics of using the rules in Microsoft Word.
